How It’s Made

Cement tile production has a history of 600 years. Discovered in medieval times in Central and Southern Europe. Covered the floors and walls of many churches, palaces, and houses of the affluent.

After 600 years, today, little or no change made on the production process. Metal (usually brass) mold shapes the surface with desired pattern and colors. Foundation is 8-10 mm thick cement mortar mixture. About 1 metric ton per sq.ft pressure applied to the mold and let the aeration to the rest of the job after releasing the mold which takes few days (sometimes up to one week) depending on the temperature and humidity.
